The President of Tajikistan Put Into Operation Enterprises in The Sughd Region




Development of industry and agriculture. President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon commissioned several facilities in the city of Istiklol in the Sughd region and got acquainted with new projects. The correspondent of the TV channel “MIR 24” Vera Ismailova will continue.

This is an industrial zone of Tajikistan and China. Emomali Rahmon launched the construction of the second stage of the Metallurgical Plant for the production of lead, silver and copper. The first stage with a production capacity of 50 thousand tons of metallic lead and zinc per year was launched by the head of state in 2017.

The plant is planned to be built by the end of 2024. It will annually produce 30 thousand tons of electrolytic lead, 50 tons of electrolytic silver and 600 tons of copper matte. In general, the Tajik-Chinese mining company plans to invest $400 million in the implementation of various projects in the country until 2026.

“For more than 15 years of operation, the company has directly invested more than $600 million in the economy of Tajikistan. Currently, the Zarnisor mine is producing underground resources with a capacity of 4 million tons per year. In addition, the launch of a new production facility will increase the number of employees from the current 4,000 to 8,000 in the next three years,” said Huang Jiang Zhung, President of the Tajik-Chinese Mining Company.

The Sughd region is a storehouse of minerals. There are over 200 deposits here, which is more than half of their total number in the republic. The region is also rich in medicinal herbs. And this area is ideal for growing rose hips. The President commissioned an irrigation water line for a 150-hectare wild rose garden.

Jams, medicinal drinks, packaged and directly in bags. At the exhibition, rose hips in a variety of forms. Their processing has already been established in the region.

“Today, in most districts of the region, successful work is underway to create wild rose gardens. We intend to increase their area to 300 hectares. We export dried wild rose to Russia. We will expand the range of products and arrange exports to other countries,” said Tojiddin Nasriddinov, Deputy Director of the State Institution “Forestry of the Sughd Region”.

Not only irrigation, but also drinking water appeared today among the residents of the city of Istiklol. The head of state commissioned a drinking water supply line for 18,000 residents. Until that time, they suffered from a lack of water in their homes.

“Earlier this problem was very urgent. Now we will receive drinking water around the clock. It hasn’t been for 70 years. On behalf of the veterans and all residents of the city, I express my gratitude to our President,” said Niez Niezov, a resident of Istiklol.Herb for a thousand diseases

Residents of Istiklol will live and work in an ecologically safe zone. At the sites of radioactive tailings, not far from the city, a waste disposal program is being implemented. This is a joint Russian-Tajik project. About a hundred specialists work here in three shifts.

“As you can see, the work has already been completed at the first stage. Work is underway on the second section. It remains the third and fourth sections. We hope that the work will be completed within two to three months,” explained President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan Farhod Rakhimi.

The height of the landfill has already decreased from 65 to 30 meters. It will be covered with stones, gravel and sand. The course of decontamination and the level of radiation is constantly monitored by specialists.

“The device shows the radiation background of the area – 0.32 megasieverts per hour. The radiation background is safe, within the normal range,” said Daler Mirzoev, a researcher at the branch of the Agency for Chemical, Biological, Radiation and Nuclear Safety of Tajikistan.

In the center of Istiklol, the head of state commissioned several workshops: sewing, carpet weaving, bakery and confectionery. And he attended a festive event dedicated to Navruz. In the evening, the celebrations moved to the stadium in Khujand. National dances and songs about beauty, spring and love for nature. Everything is in the best traditions of the ancient Navruz holiday.

Also in Istiklol, Emomali Rahmon commissioned a kindergarten for 300 children and a historical museum.
