Xiaomi 14 with Leica camera launching in India on March 7

Xiaomi just announced that its latest flagship — Xiaomi 14 featuring a Leica camera — will officially launch in India on March 7, making it the second Leica-branded smartphone from the company to launch in the country. The smartphone was originally launched in China back in October 2023, and the company is finally bringing the device to a global audience.

The Xiaomi 14 was one of the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC-powered smartphones to launch in China. Considering the company is introducing the same model in India, it will also be one of the most compact flagships from the company this year, featuring a 6.36-inch 120Hz display with FHD+ resolution and up to 3000 nits of peak brightness.

The highlight of the Xiaomi 14 is its camera system, which includes a 50 MP triple-camera setup with a dedicated wide-angle and an ultra-wide-angle lens. Additionally, the smartphone also has a 32 MP selfie camera. In terms of software, this was the first phone to launch with the company’s HyperOS (review) based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP).

Other prominent features of the Xiaomi 14 include an IP68 rating for added water and dust resistance, a metal-glass sandwich design, a USB 3.2 port for fast data transfer, and support for the latest wireless standards such as Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

Right now, there is no confirmation if the company is launching the Xiaomi 14 Ultra in India, which will be announced at the upcoming MWC 2024. Considering the launch price of Rs 74,999 for the Xiaomi 13 Pro, the Xiaomi 14 is expected to be priced similarly. This smartphone will compete against the likes of iQOO 12 (review)OnePlus 12, and other Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered Android smartphones in the market.
